Nokia wins German patent ruling against HTC

A German court ruled in favour of Finnish mobile phone maker Nokia on Tuesday, saying some devices made by Taiwan's HTC infringed on its power-saving patent. The case was one of 22 infringement suits Nokia has brought against HTC in Germany, a major battleground in the global patent war between makers of mobile phones, tablet computer devices and their operating software. "Nokia is pleased with this decision, which confirms the quality of Nokia's patent portfolio," Nokia said in an e-mailed statement. The power-saving patent refers to a technology for saving battery power while connected to a network.

Nokia Launches New Asha Touch Device Range


June 7th Chennai, India – Taking another step towards connecting the next billion consumers, Nokia today unveiled the Asha Touch family of mobile devices in India, introducing the full touch experience at new price points. The two new phone models - the Nokia Asha 305 and Nokia Asha 311 – further expand the successful Asha smartphone familyproviding young, social consumers with a choice of phones to match their own lifestyle. With a focus on being closer to the market, the devices will be manufactured from Nokia’s Sriperumbudur, Chennai manufacturing unit.
“The Nokia Asha 305 and Nokia Asha 311 will provide the Indian consumer with full touch capabilities at new price points and also deliver attractive and intuitive experience for connecting to the internet, to their friends, and to a world of entertainment, web apps and content. We believe the Nokia’s Chennai manufacturing unit has been instrumental in helping us deliver on our commitment to connect the next billion of consumers by helping us meet the increasing demand for the Asha series of devices,” said D Shivakumar, Senior Vice President, IMEA, Nokia.

Nokia 808 Pure View Smartphone with 41 Megapixels Camera


Following close on the heels of the ‘price leak’ of the upcoming Nokia 808 PureView, Nokia has mentioned that the reports are false and that price is actually a dummy price and not the actual price of the phone. As reported, a spokesperson mentioned that, "We outsource certain chores, and for that we have to give price related information. So, in such cases, we furnish a dummy price, and not the actual (true) price. In this case also (the one mentioned in the source code), Rs 29,999 is a dummy price and the 808 Pureview will not be available for this price," However, the spokesperson refused to divulge the actual price of the upcoming 41 megapixel monster of a phone by Nokia. Nokia launches Asha 202 with free internet


Five telecom operators are offering 100 MB data plan per SIM card for six months with this dual SIM, touch and type phone. 40 EA games worth Rs 4000 are also available for free.
Nokia today announced the launch of its Asha 202 mobile phone in India. The Nokia Asha 202 is a dual SIM, touch and type phone designed for enhanced and cost effective web browsing, social networking, gaming and entertainment.
